This podcast was created 18 months after I had submitted my analysis that the district can save millions of dollars if it owned & operated its own bus fleet. At the 4 minutes and 20 second point in this podcast, transportation expert, Mr. Keith Corso, states that indeed schools save money by running their own bus fleet. This podcast also notes that 2/3 of school districts run their own bus fleet.
LaRocca blatantly makes false claims about busing
At the end of the LaRocca's presentation, I questioned her claim about more than 50% of the children receiving some form of transportation. In her powerpoint and in her later comments she claims 53% of the children receive some form of busing. I asked her don't you mean, 53% of the children are ELIGIBLE for transportation. She pauses and says yes.
LaRocca wants to give $384,000 to the bus companies.
I gave LaRocca a comprehensive cost/benefit analysis that demonstrates the District can easily save millions annually. More than a year ago, the Herald reported on my proposal and Dr. LaRocca said she would need to do her own analysis. I foiled for her. SHE IGNORED her promise and did nothing. She now is doing what she's been doing for years. She simply increasing the amount you pay to the private bus companies.
